Intelligent Visualization Interfaces in Mixed Reality

Abstract

Augmented Reality allows us to display virtual content in the real world. Our mobile AR application provides a platform for tourist to explore Zurich, by showing information about restaurants and shops in AR. In this thesis we aim at improving the existing interface, by enhancing the system usability and creating a better user experience. We integrated different kinds of maps to help the users orient themselves and find points of interest. To create a unique experience, we added animations to display the information. Moreover, we conducted a user study to compare the different interfaces we designed and find the best interface for our application.
